SAP CI: Adapters Pack

Don't know how to work on some adapter type?

Adapters for connectivity. Will cover adapter type like HTTP, SOAP, OData, SFTP, JDBC (Generic DB + SAP HANA Cloud DB), RFC, IDOC, JMS, Mail, Azure Blob Storage and other adapter type as needed. SAP API Management (APIM):
Secure, Shape & Govern APIs with Clarity.

You will also get learning content on SAP API Management capability, so you don’t just expose APIs, you manage them like products.

We start with the fundamentals: setting up API Management in your Integration Suite trial tenant, building your first API proxy, understanding proxy flows, and testing everything with the built-in API Test Console (no Postman needed if you don’t want). You’ll see how an API proxy really works, not just follow screenshots.

From there, we go into publishing APIs from real SAP systems – SAP Cloud Integration, S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Gateway, with API key authentication and other necessary patterns. You’ll see how the pieces fit together end-to-end, not in isolation.

You’ll then learn the core APIM policies in a structured way: verifying API keys, assigning and cleaning up headers/query/body, setting Basic Auth credentials before calling target APIs, working with Key Value Maps, and more. After that, we advance into rate limiting, quota, spike arrest, XSLT transforms, mediation, JSON/XML conversions, OAuth2, access control and IP whitelisting, all explained with practical scenarios you actually face in projects.

You will also get learning content on SAP Advanced Event Mesh (AEM), so you truly understand event-driven messaging, queue/topic behavior, and retry/TTL patterns, not just “pub/sub demo”.

We begin by connecting the dots between Integration Suite, AEM and Solace PubSub+ Cloud. You’ll set up a free Solace trial, create your first queues, publish and consume messages, and get hands-on with the basics quickly.

Then we go deep into the AEM adapter for SAP CI: publishing to queues and topics, dynamically setting queue/topic names, and consuming from both queue and topic. You’ll understand what actually happens under the hood when messages flow through, not just “it works”.

Next, we focus on reliability and robustness, acknowledgement modes, exponential backoff retry, “retry forever” vs “retry up to max count”, how to avoid infinite loops, and how to design your retry behavior correctly. We also explore parallel processing with exclusive vs non-exclusive queues and parallel consumers, using realistic bulk-message scenarios with intermittent errors.

You’ll learn Time-To-Live (TTL) and Dead Message Queue (DMQ) handling with concrete use-cases: how long messages should live, what happens on expiry, how to move failed or expired messages to DMQ, and how to design for graceful recovery. Beyond that, we explore REST messaging (REST → broker → REST), retry behavior with REST Delivery Points, and how AMQP adapters play together with AEM’s own retry.

By the end, AEM is no longer “just another broker”, you’ll be able to design and troubleshoot reliable, event-driven flows with queues, topics, retry, TTL and DMQ patterns that actually work in production.

SAP B2B EDI: From Zero to Running EDIFACT/X12 with TPM & IA

You will also get learning content on SAP B2B EDI capability, so you can confidently handle EDIFACT/X12 flows, Trading Partner Management (TPM), and Integration Advisor (IA), not just look at EDI files like “alien formats”.

We start with the foundation setup: enabling Integration Suite with Integration Advisor and TPM, configuring credentials, activating trial EDI type systems and understanding what’s going on behind the scenes. You’ll see how Postman, iFlows, Partner Directory and B2B capabilities work together.

Then we cover EDI basics for EDIFACT and X12, glossary, segment structure, and how to read the key control segments (UNA/UNB/UNH… ISA/GS/ST…). With that baseline, you move into EDI converter and schema: creating MIGs, downloading XSDs, converting EDI flat files to XML and back again, both via iFlow and via Partner Directory, including using generic XSLT with parameters.

You’ll learn how to use the EDI Splitter to handle files with multiple transactions, validate per interchange or per message, and deal with partial success/partial failure properly. No magic, just clear explanation and guided examples.

From there, we dive into the TPM flow step-by-step: company profiles, trading partner profiles, agreement templates, actual agreements, and ProcessDirect-based simulations that you can trace end-to-end in B2B Monitoring. We then layer on Integration Advisor (MIG & MAG), and move towards real-life scenarios: AS2 to IDoc with encryption/signing, functional acknowledgements (CONTRL and 997), restart vs retry strategies, and B2B message search using custom attributes.

By the end, you won’t just “know that SAP has B2B/EDI”, you’ll be able to set it up, simulate, troubleshoot, and explain to your team how EDIFACT/X12, IA, TPM and Integration Suite fit together in real projects.

SAP EIP Patterns & Design Thinking:
Think and Design Like an Integration Architect

You will also get learning content on SAP EIP Patterns & Design Thinking, so you don’t just know how to build iFlows, you understand why you design them in a certain way.

We start with the foundation patterns: Message Channel, Channel Adapter, and Pipe-and-Filter. These are the building blocks behind almost every integration flow. You’ll see them visually and in SAP CPI terms, so you can map patterns to what you already do day-to-day.

Then we walk through the core routing patterns like Content-Based Router, Message Filter, Multicast, Recipient List, and Splitter, followed by dynamic routing patterns such as Message Dispatcher, Selective Consumers, Dynamic Router and Dynamic Recipient List. Each is explained with clear names, metaphors, and CPI-friendly examples so you can recognise them in your own designs.

You’ll also learn the core transformation patterns (Message Translator, Envelope Wrapper, Content Enricher, Content Filter) and message patterns (Document/Command/Event Message, Request-Reply, Return Address, Correlation Identifier). This is where your mindset shifts from “iFlow = steps” to “iFlow = pattern combination for a reason”.

Monitoring and reliability patterns like Detour, Wire Tap and Message History are then introduced to help you think about observability and operability, not just happy-path flows. Finally, we explore intermediate patterns such as Service Activator, Claim Check, Canonical Data Model, Normalizer, Message Sequence, Aggregator and Scatter-Gather, and how they show up in real SAP landscapes.

Throughout, the focus is not on memorizing theory, but on design thinking: how to choose the right pattern, how to combine them, and how to keep solutions simple, robust and maintainable. This helps you grow from “CPI developer” towards “integration architect” over time.
